Dutchman's Puzzle
The Dutchman's Puzzle: Has a pinwheel effect. This block is divided into four sections.
INSTRUCTIONS
What will be needed for this pattern: (You can use these measurements or print the template provided on the next page ).
color 1 - one strip that measures, 3 ½" by 26"
color 2 - one strip that measures, 3 ½" by 26"
color 3 - 2 strips that measure, 3 ½" by 28"
- Cut your Color 1 (3-½" x 26 strips), into four 6-½" x 3-½" rectangles.
- Cut your color 2 (3-½" x 26 strips), into four 6-½" x 3-½" rectangles.
- Cut your color 3 (3-½" x 28" strips), into eight 3-½" squares.

4. For all of the Color 1 and Color 2 rectangles, place a Color 3 square right sides together, aligned on top of one end.
5. Mark the diagonal on the wrong side and SEW on that line.
6. Cut off excess and press the seam allowances towards the triangle. 7. Sew another square on the opposite end in the same manner.

*There will be a total of four of these in each color. *
8. Now its time to piece the block! Sew two of the rectangle units together, as shown below. Make four of these units. Piece them first as rows, and then sew the two rows together to make your block.
