Fray Preventer
A colorless liquid that may be applied to fabric edges that ravel or fray easily. Fray preventer can also be applied to finishing knots to prevent them from untying. The solution can endure repeated laundering.

Fusible Webbing - A web like tape that has a bonding agent on both sides and used to secure two layers of fabric together.  This fusible tape can be used to hem, mend, tack, apply trim or when hem stitches are undesirable.  The bonding agent is activated by a steam iron.

Loop Turner
A long, slim piece of metal that has either a gripper or catch hook at the end.  This tool is used  to turn narrow tubing right side out by grasping the fabric .  Examples are spaghetti straps narrow belts etc..

Needle Threader
-
A simple device used to help thread needles. Just push the wire end through the needle eye, place thread through wire and then pull threader back out.

Rayon - The first synthetic fiber, made from wood pulp.

Seam Ripper -  A tool with a 2 to 4 inch handle and a crescent shaped prong at one end.  The prong is a sharp blade on one side and blunt at the other.  This tool is used to safely rip out the threads from a seam.

Shank Button -   A button that has a ring like projection on the back that is used to sew the button 
to the fabric. 

Slip stitch - A stitch used in crochet and knitting.  When used in crochet, its much like a chain stitch except
                  that you are creating the stitch by working from a foundation chain or other stitches.  In knitting,
                  a stitch that is moved from one needle to the other without being worked. (sl st)

Slipstitch - A stitch used when you do not want a lot of stitching to show.  Hems, pockets, etc..

Thimble
-
Used in hand sewing to protect fingertips.  Worn over the middle or index finger. Prevents pin pricks.   Also helps to push a needle through thick or multiple layers of fabric. 

Tracing Wheel - A tool used in transferring pattern markings to fabrics by using a carbon or wax transfer sheet.
The wheel is rolled along the pattern line you wish to trace.
